Crystal Palace attacking midfielder Eberechi Eze is ‘definitely on the radar’ of some top clubs, according to journalist Dean Jones.
The 24-year-old has been in impressive form for the Eagles in recent weeks, potentially catching the eye of some of the Premier League’s more affluent and ambitious sides.
What is the latest news involving Eze?
It was previously reported by The Sun back in February that Newcastle United were lining up a £45 million offer for Eze as their Saudi owners contemplated how to splash their never-ending stream of cash.
Ultimately, the Magpies decided against making a move for the creative talent, but his performances of late have only enhanced his growing reputation.
Palace manager Patrick Vieira declared that Eze was getting back to his best ahead of the capital club’s opening Premier League game of the campaign, and it’s certainly hard to argue with that assessment.
Vieira and co. will now surely be hoping that they can retain the former England Under-21 international’s services for as long as possible.
What has Jones said about Eze?
Jones has informed GiveMeSport that he believes Eze has a ‘really high ceiling’ and that his current employers will not be able to ‘hold on to him forever'.

He said: “Eze is definitely on the radar of some big clubs at the moment, and Palace did well to get Eze as early as they did anyway.
“So, it's still a positive from a Palace point of view that they've even got him, but they won't hold on to him forever. I mean, Eze has a really high ceiling, it’s as high as he wants it to be, he can go to the very top of the game.”
How well is Eze playing this season?
Eze was limited to just six Premier League starts last term due to an Achilles injury, and he could only muster two goal contributions in his 17 appearances across all competitions.
However, the technically gifted ace has already bettered that tally this time around, registering two goals and two assists in 12 outings.
As per WhoScored, Eze has also averaged 1.7 shots, 1.8 key passes, 2.3 dribbles and one cross per top-flight fixture, placing him in the top two for each metric when compared to his teammates.
Eze is evidently central to everything Palace do in the final third of the pitch, and Vieira will be grateful that his £30,000-per-week contract is not due to expire until the summer of 2025.
