WWE has discussed a "never-seen-before" idea for Austin Theory as Mr. Money in the Bank, it has now emerged.

Theory won Money in the Bank back in July, despite not even being advertised for the match beforehand.

A lot of fans have been speculating how WWE is going to deal with Theory as the holder of the briefcase, but that's now been answered.

What are WWE's plans for Austin Theory?

Theory appeared on NXT last week, teasing cashing-in his briefcase on Bron Breakker in the process, so it seems like WWE is definitely open to new ideas for the Mr. Money in the Bank.

This would be the first time, if Theory does choose to target Breakker, that WWE has had the Money in the Bank holder cash in on someone that's not on the main roster.

However, speaking exclusively with GiveMeSport, WrestleVotes has revealed that another never-seen-before idea has been discussed and is "on the table" for Theory.

There is an idea that he is the first guy to wait a full year, like the day of or let's say night of Money in the Bank next year. That's the storyline, like 'you have to cash this in in two and a half hours. You have to cash this in in 90 minutes.' That type of thing. I know that idea is on the table

The idea, as you can see above, would see Theory holding Money in the Bank until whenever WWE holds the pay-per-view next year, which would be the first time that's been done.

WrestleVotes didn't say whether or not WWE would then have him become Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, or if he'd fail his cash-in, but the idea does seem to be actively being discussed now.

It's also worth noting that the report didn't say that this is the idea that Triple H is going to be going with, just that it's one that's been discussed and isn't off the table, at least at the time of writing.
