A recent report has confirmed that Jiri Prochazka has been drug tested an incredible 51 times by USADA since the start of the year.

Over the course of the last two years, very few fighters have made quite as big of an impact in the UFC as Jiri Prochazka.

The 205-pound sensation has done the Czech Republic proud and at just 3-0 with the promotion, he already sits at the top of the division as the UFC light heavyweight champion.

It’s a journey that he’d mapped out for quite some time and now, it’s finally become a reality, which is hardly surprising to anyone who watched his phenomenal run with Rizin.

Alas, as one of the most physically imposing figures in the sport, it’ll probably come as no surprise that USADA has been taking a keen interest in him outside of the Octagon.

Always watching

The 30-year-old’s testing history has been well documented alongside the rest of the roster but as per this recent report, the doping agency has been keeping a particularly close eye on his comings and goings in 2022.

“Based on data from USADA's athlete test history, Jiri Prochazka has submitted 24 samples for drug testing in the past month (and 27 total in Q3 of 2022). This is a massive anomaly as the next most is 7 samples submitted. USADA confirmed to me that the number is accurate.”

Prochazka’s 51 samples absolutely dwarf Manel Kape and Kamaru Usman, both of whom come in as runners-up with 15 samples each.

Other notable names on the list include Neil Magny, Rose Namajunas, Paulo Costa, Jorge Masvidal and Henry Cejudo, with the latter re-entering the testing pool around six months ago.

Ending on a high

Earlier this year, Jiri Prochazka managed to submit Glover Teixeira in the fifth round of their UFC 275 war to become the new face of the light heavyweight division.

Ever since then, fans have been wondering what direction the company would be heading in with regard to the title picture - and now, we finally appear to have an answer.

These two warriors are expected to run back their instant classic at UFC 282, and as long as Jon Jones vs Stipe Miocic isn’t added to the card, it’ll almost certainly feature as the main event attraction in Las Vegas.
