Kylian Mbappe is one of the biggest stars in world football and he is aiming to lead France to glory once again at the 2022 World Cup.

The PSG striker has emerged as one of the brightest talents in the game in recent years and he is only 23.

Mbappe has already won 59 caps for his country, per Transfermarkt, but how many goals has he scored at the World Cup?

The former Monaco star made his debut for Les Bleus in 2017, when he was just 18, and he has been ever-present for his country, fitness permitting, ever since.

As the Qatar tournament looms large – it begins in November – let’s take a look at how many times Mbappe has hit the back of the net at previous tournaments.

In total, Mbappe has scored four goals in seven games at the World Cup.

Because of his precocious age, he has only played at one tournament, with that being the 2018 edition in Russia.

He played in every single game at that tournament and netted four times.

It is fair to say that Mbappe came of age at the tournament, scoring his first World Cup goal in the 1-0 group stage win over Peru.

Three.

He netted a brilliant brace in the Round of 16 against Argentina at the 2018 tournament, as France won 4-3; he also provided an assist.

While he did not score against Uruguay or Belgium in the quarter-final or the semi-final, he did score in the World Cup final as France beat Croatia 4-2.

He then lifted the trophy along with his teammates, becoming one of only a very select few footballers to both win the World Cup and score in the final.

France are undoubtedly one of the favourites to win the tournament, as they come into it as reigning champions.

They have been drawn into Group D and will face Australia, Denmark, and Tunisia in the group stages.

As we reported when we charted England’s route to the final, they could match up with the Three Lions in the quarter-finals, provided both teams win their groups.

Mbappe will be desperate to add to his tally at the World Cup and we’ll keep this page updated whenever he hits the back of the net!
