The first game of the 2022 World Cup sees hosts Qatar play Ecuador and we can reveal the date and time the two teams will kick off.

With midfield stars Jeremy Sarmiento and Moises Caicedo involved in the Ecuador side, many Premier League and Brighton fans will be tuning in.

The two nations have never won the World Cup before, and if they won the 2022 World Cup, it would definitely be one of the biggest surprises ever in football.

With an abundance of matches available to watch in this tournament, we are definitely in for a very entertaining spectacle.

World Cup 2022: When do Qatar play Ecuador?

Despite the two being some of the lower-ranked countries in the tournament, excitement is at an all-time high and football fanatics will no doubt watch every game at the World Cup.

With Qatar being the hosts, they are the lucky nation to play first and they are facing their Group A opponents Ecuador. The two will face each other on Sunday 20th November 2022, and the game will be played at 4 PM GMT.

No doubt many in the Al Bayt Stadium will be supporting Qatar and this could massively help them. Both the home nation and Ecuador need to pick up points in this match as their other two opponents in Group A are the Netherlands and current African Cup of Nations winners Senegal.

It will be very interesting to see how the World Cup flows due to it being in the middle of a typical domestic season and if this tournament will have any effect on the club competitions when they get back into full flow post-World Cup.
