Anthony Joshua often looks in better shape than his opponents when he enters the boxing ring, but going by his latest social media posts, he's lost a lot of his muscle recently.

It is interesting to see the comparison between his latest Instagram posts and how he looked before he faced Oleksandr Usyk in a rematch.

He looks like he has lost a fair bit of muscle in the aftermath of the Usyk bout back in August.

Of course, he has no fight planned at the moment after his possible fight with fellow Brit Tyson Fury fell through.

A lot of fighters and experts have said in the past that Joshua would be much more effective if he was to lose some muscle mass, and only time will tell if this will be the future for AJ.

You can see what Anthony Joshua is currently looking like below, and also what he looked like for the Usyk rematch.

Former world champion Andre Ward spoke before the Usyk bout about why Joshua should lose the muscle.

He said: “Man, I’ve been trying to tell Anthony Joshua for the past six or seven years – get the mass off.

“Then you’ll feel faster, you’ll want to throw more punches and you won’t hit that wall midway in the fight where that blood fills up in your muscles and you can’t get the shots off.”

What is next for Anthony Joshua?

Joshua’s next opponent is yet to be revealed, but he does still think a fight with Fury will happen at some point.

The 33-year-old told DAZN: “All that other stuff, back and forth on social media, it’s quite time consuming.

“There’s a good and a bad on social media, like anything, so it’s not annoying but you’ve got to play the game as well.

“My dance partner [Fury], the last geezer I was supposed to fight, he’s a good dance partner.

“He handles social media side of things. I think we’d do good business behind the scenes.

“It will happen.”

The Gypsy King would be a strong favourite if the two were ever to get in the ring together, but he has a fight with Derek Chisora to take care of first.

AJ could face Dillian Whyte in early 2023 if The Body Snatcher is able to overcome Jermaine Franklin at Wembley Arena.
