WWE Superstars are constantly evolving in a range of different ways, whether that be heel or face turns, a change in personality or a change in appearance.

One major change you can see to Superstars is their hair, both on their head and faces, you only have to compare Triple H in his prime wrestling days compared to now, he has ditched the luscious long locks for a buzz cut, growing his beard out in the process.

It’s easy for Superstars to have iconic parts of their appearance, whether that be accessories or trademark costumes, but beards can become just as iconic.

WWE Superstars’ beards

Beards can become major parts of WWE Superstars, with more and more opting to sport some facial hair, but that wasn’t the case back in 2013.

The then boss of WWE, Vince McMahon incorporated Daniel Bryan’s beard into a storyline, ordering him to shave his facial hair if he wanted the backing to win the WWE Championship.

Some wrestlers have their iconic looks with beards and look bizarre when that changes and they grow it out, or the opposite, shaving their facial hair off after it became trademark in their appearance.

Batista with a beard is certainly interesting viewing, seeing the Superstar completely shaven across his entire body in his heyday, but he even has a little bit of hair to partner his new look. As mentioned earlier, Triple H has gone the opposite with his hair and facial hair, but he’s still as recognisable now as he was in his prime.

Edge is another Superstar who has changed up his appearance a fair bit, similarly to Triple H, he now has cut back his long hair and grown his beard out massively, although he did switch to a beard before cutting his hair. Another we previously mentioned was Daniel Bryan, who had his facial hair central in a 2013 storyline.

Elias and Sheamus are a duo that just look wrong without their beards, with that vibrant ginger hair on the Irishman so recognisable nowadays. Two more Superstars that just look so surreal without beards are Braun Strowman and Otis, they don’t even look like the same people after they’ve had a shave.

After making his return, Bray Wyatt has been lauded by WWE fans across the globe, but his look prior to growing his beard out with long blonde hair is certainly an eyebrow raiser, as is Finn Balor, his beard certainly helps him look a lot more intimidating.

Finally we have The Big Show and Jinder Mahal, the big man has almost always sported the bald look, but the difference between seeing him with a bushy beard compared to no facial hair is surreal. Jinder Mahal also looks almost unrecognisable when ditching his gelled hair and clean shaven look for a more rugged appearance.
