The Euro 2022 winning Lionesses have sent their support to the Red Roses after their 26-19 win over Canada in the Rugby World Cup semi-final.

England were put to the test against the fired-up Canucks but two Abby Dow tries and three penalties from Emily Scarratt secured their ticket to the final next Saturday.

The Red Roses will face reigning champions and hosts New Zealand at Eden Park as they look to win their first world title since 2014.

What did the England Lionesses say?

Among the celebrations of England reaching their sixth consecutive World Cup final, the official Lionesses Twitter account sent out congratulations following the thrilling result over Canada.

"LETS GOOOO. Congrats, @EnglandRugby!" the Euro 2022 champions wrote.

Leah Williamson, who captained her side to their first major trophy during the summer also extended her support for her compatriots.

"Congratulations to the whole team! I can’t wait to watch," the Arsenal star posted.

The Lionesses took women's football to a whole new level at Euro 2022 thanks to their fairytale performance.

As hosts of the tournament, the pressure was on to deliver. But the players did not allow the magnitude of the occasion to get the better of them.

England emerged victorious after defeating eight-time champions Germany in the final, thanks to goals from Ella Toone and Chloe Kelly.

Can England win the Rugby World Cup?

England will be looking to get revenge on New Zealand after they pipped them to the trophy in 2017.

The Black Ferns enjoyed a 41-32 win over their opponents in Ireland to clinch their fifth world title.

The Red Roses have won the World Cup on two occasions — first in 1994 and then 20 years later at the Stade Jean-Bouin in Paris.

Holders and hosts New Zealand narrowly edged past France to book their place in this year’s final. A tense 25-24 win set them up for a dream encounter to challenge for the silverware on home soil.

It was heartbreak for the French, however, who will be distraught over such a close result. Their wait for their first World Cup final continues.

England's win over Canada extends their winning record to 30 games in a row, setting them up nicely for a repeat of the 2017 World Cup final.

With a lot riding on England's performance and an entire home nation there to roar on the Black Ferns, the final is going to be a very special occasion and a huge moment in women's rugby.
