Manchester United target Dusan Vlahovic is 'unbelievable' and the Juventus star has similar traits to Manchester City frontman Erling Haaland, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

Although the Red Devils spent more than £200million during the summer window, Erik ten Hag will be presented with another opportunity to bolster his squad at the turn of the year.

What's the latest news involving Vlahovic?

According to the Telegraph, Manchester United are planning for life without Cristiano Ronaldo and Vlahovic has worked his way onto the club's radar.

The report suggests the 16-cap Serbia international is on a two-man shortlist which also includes Red Bull Salzburg's Benjamin Sesko as the Red Devils are looking to make a striker their next major signing.

Vlahovic only joined Juventus in a £66.6million deal earlier this year, but it has emerged that the Serie A giants are open to sanctioning his departure.

It is understood that a bid worth £87million would be enough to persuade the Italian side into offloading the 22-year-old, who has also gained interest from Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Chelsea.

Juventus are in a strong negotiating position as Vlahovic's £215,000-per-week contract is not due to expire until the summer of 2026.

What has Dean Jones said about Vlahovic?

Jones believes Vlahovic is comparable to Manchester City goal-getter Haaland and would be an astute signing by Manchester United.

The journalist feels the former Fiorentina man, who is looking forward to heading to the World Cup in the coming weeks, would be a hit at Old Trafford.

When asked whether the Serbian would be a good fit at Manchester United, Jones told GIVEMESPORT: "Vlahovic is a bit like Haaland.

"He is just unbelievable with what he can do - his positioning, his runs and his style of play. His confidence, at times, is ridiculous."

How does Vlahovic compare to Haaland?

Although Vlahovic has scored far less goals than Haaland since the season got underway, having found the back of the net eight times compared to the Norwegian's tally of 23, there are similarities between the duo.

They registered an incredibly similar number of shots per 90 minutes during the 2021/22 campaign, which emphasises that the Manchester United target gets himself into dangerous positions.

It could also be argued that Vlahovic offers more when his side are without the ball as he averages 0.6 tackles and wins possession 0.4 times each domestic outing, which is a greater number than Haaland.

There is no doubt that Vlahovic, who has won silverware in his homeland, would be an eye-catching signing by Red Devils boss ten Hag.
