West Ham United boss David Moyes' job is 'not currently under threat at all' despite a poor run of form and signs of discontent at the London Stadium, according to journalist Paul Brown.

The Hammers parted with close to £160million during the summer transfer window, but their ambitious spending spree has not resulted in match-winning performances of late.

What's the latest news involving Moyes?

West Ham were dumped out of the Carabao Cup by Championship side Blackburn Rovers after suffering a dramatic 10-9 penalty shoot-out defeat on Wednesday.

The latest setback came just days after the Hammers suffered a last-gasp loss at the hands of Crystal Palace and the fixture saw supporters speak out against Moyes' decisions.

Having heard the home crowd boo his decision to substitute Said Benrahma, Moyes launched a firm defence of the alteration.

West Ham co-owner David Sullivan has suggested that the Scotsman's job is not in jeopardy after insisting 'we one hundred per cent support the manager' following the Premier League defeat.

However, it comes after it was previously reported that Moyes is skating on thin ice and needs to oversee a sharp upturn in form.

What has Paul Brown said about Moyes?

Brown understands that the West Ham hierarchy are not contemplating sacking Moyes despite a worrying run of Premier League results.

However, the journalist is aware that a section of the fanbase are seeking a change in the dugout.

Brown told GIVEMESPORT: "I can understand why West Ham fans are not happy. Their owners promised them a lot many years ago and they seemed on the verge of being able to realise some of that last season, but they've clearly taken a step back.

"I think it's no surprise that the manager is getting a bit of stick and coming under fire. I know a lot of West Ham fans and I have a lot of them in my ear all the time complaining about him. A lot of them now want him gone.

"Personally, I think it's a bit too soon for a club like West Ham to be putting the manager under pressure and, from what I'm told by sources inside the club, his position is not currently under threat at all. That, obviously, could change.

"The issue here is that West Ham's form in the Premier League has not been good for some time."

Should Moyes be sacked by West Ham?

Although West Ham are just two points clear of the Premier League's relegation zone, having suffered eight defeats from 14 fixtures, Moyes deserves more time to turn things around.

Since returning to east London for a second spell at the helm in December 2019, he has led the Hammers to consecutive top-seven finishes and a memorable run to the Europa League semi-finals.

During his current stint at West Ham, Moyes has enjoyed 66 wins from 143 fixtures and that is a record not to be sniffed at.

After the last two campaigns, which brought a feelgood factor to the London Stadium, the former Manchester United and Everton chief has earned the right to remain in charge for now.
