England have reached the T20 World Cup final after demolishing India in brutal fashion at the Adelaide Oval, setting up a mouth-watering clash with Pakistan in Sunday's final.

India looked way below par in the opening exchanges, before a late blitz from Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya saw them to a par score, although England's openers made any score they had to chase possible, with the Indian bowlers having little to no answer throughout.

Jos Buttler, in his first major tournament as skipper didn't disappoint, with an unbeaten 50 for the Lancashire man, making 'Jos the Boss' look like an understatement.

With the bat, both Buttler and Alex Hales were impeccable, with barely any errors from either batter. India's fielding let them down also, summing up the one sided nature of the semi-final, with a record breaking opening partnership from England.

A ludicrous overthrow saw Buttler run a four, whilst the skipper was dropped late on in the innings, summing up a miserable day for the Indians who had hoped for so much more.

Buttler finished the game off in style with a monster six back down the ground, finishing on an impressive unbeaten 80 from 49 deliveries, with his partner at the other end on 86 from just 47. Buttler and Hales didn't even need the firepower of Phil Salt, Liam Livingstone or Ben Stokes, summing up just how easy it was with so much more batting in the pavilion.

World Cup final: England vs Pakistan

It will be a mammoth match-up on Sunday when two powerhouses of international cricket go head-to-head for the ultimate prize, a World Cup trophy, with England looking to go one better than their last appearance in a final, losing to the West Indies in 2016.

England will be looking to follow up their 2019 ODI World Cup victory, stamping down their mark as the best white ball team in the world.

Pakistan on the other hand contested a much closer semi-final, battling past New Zealand with five balls left, so England will surely go into the final as heavy favourites following their near perfect performance this morning.
