England kick off their World Cup against Iran and Kane has a history of hitting the back of the net in the group stages.

He won the Golden Boot at the 2018 tournament, having scored exclusively in the groups.

At $11m, he’s going to be an expensive acquisition, but he could give you a big return.

Lionel Messi - $10.5m – Argentina

One of the best players of all time, Messi really should be in your team, given that Argentina are heavily favoured to go all the way.

They kick off their tournament against relative minnows Saudi Arabia and will be hoping to get three points on the board nice and early.

Messi will be key to that hope.

Kylian Mbappe - $11.5m – France

Mbappe is the most expensive player in the game and rightly so, given that he has lit up the World Cup stage before.

He scored in the final in 2018 and France begin their tournament against an Australia side that looks relatively weak on paper.

Mbappe could be among the goals from the off, and that could bag you a load of points.

This is a bit of a left-field shout but Ecuador play Qatar in their opening game of the tournament, and very few of us actually know if the host nation are going to be any good.

Valencia has Premier League pedigree and has played at the World Cup before; in three games at the tournament, he has three goals, per Transfermarkt.

As a budget option, he could bring home plenty of points on matchday one.

Christian Eriksen - $8m – Denmark

The Manchester United star remains Denmark’s go-to creator and the Danes begin with a game they should be winning, against Tunisia.

As a result, Eriksen looks like an attractive option; he can return on both goals and assists and will be central to everything Denmark do at the 2022 tournament.

Given that he’s cheaper than the likes of Kevin De Bruyne and Bruno Fernandes, he looks like a real bargain.
