West Ham United boss David Moyes is 'under more pressure' than ever before during his second stint at the London Stadium and needs to pick up a positive result against Leicester City, according to journalist Dean Jones.

The Scotsman has been in the hot seat since December 2019, but there are question marks over his long-term future at the helm.

What's the latest news involving Moyes?

Moyes is reportedly under huge pressure to deliver a positive result when West Ham go head-to-head with Leicester on Saturday as there are growing doubts, within the fanbase, over whether he should remain in charge.

He was heavily backed in the summer transfer window, spending close to £160million on the likes of Lucas Paqueta and Gianluca Scamacca, but results have been underwhelming in the months since.

West Ham are just two points clear of the Premier League's relegation zone and have suffered eight defeats in their opening 14 fixtures.

The Hammers were also dumped out of the Carabao Cup by Championship side Blackburn Rovers after suffering a dramatic 10-9 penalty shoot-out defeat on Wednesday.

But, prior to the latest setback, West Ham co-owner David Sullivan suggested Moyes' job is not in jeopardy after insisting ‘we one hundred per cent support the manager’.

What has Dean Jones said about Moyes?

Jones believes Moyes has struggled to get the best out of his big-money summer acquisitions and, consequently, results have gone downhill.

The journalist feels the 59-year-old's position has never been in more doubt since he returned to West Ham.

Jones told GIVEMESPORT: "I think the thing that Moyes has struggled with is getting the most out of players like Paqueta and Scamacca.

"Those attacking signings were supposed to help him, but it doesn't seem to have really helped him.

"If anything, Moyes is probably under more pressure now than he has been for any period during his time at West Ham. The fans are certainly getting a bit restless.

"The other way to look at this is that this would be one of the most sought-after jobs in management. Given what we've seen Moyes achieve in the past couple of years, the fanbase and stadium, there will be other managers out there that would love a go at this job.

"I can see why the temptation will be there, but I think he just really has to have a good result this weekend because if this result goes against him, I do think there'll be a lot of disharmony."

Have supporters been calling for Moyes to be sacked?

West Ham supporters started to show signs of discontent when the capital club suffered a last-gasp defeat to Crystal Palace last weekend.

Large sections of the home crowd booed Moyes' decision to substitute Said Benrahma, which led to him coming out and defending the alteration.

Hammers captain Declan Rice has also claimed that the fans were right to voice their frustrations and anger after the loss to their London rivals.

While Moyes' job appears to be safe for now, there is no doubt that the former Everton and Manchester United chief needs to oversee an upturn in form if he wants to avoid further clashes with the fanbase.
