Alisson Becker was at his brilliant best as Liverpool beat Southampton in their Premier League clash at Saturday afternoon.

Liverpool were looking to pick up a much-needed three points in their final game before the World Cup break.

The Reds got the result they were looking for as they won 3-1 at Anfield.

Roberto Firmino got Liverpool off to a flying start as he broke the deadlock with six minutes on the clock, only for Che Adams to equalise shortly after.

Darwin Nunez then notched a brace to give Liverpool a two-goal lead after half-time.

There were no goals in the second 45 minutes as Liverpool held on to victory.

Alisson puts in second half masterclass vs Southampton

Liverpool may not have held on to victory had it not been for the brilliance of their goalkeeper.

Alisson, one of the best goalkeepers in world football if not the best, made three outstanding saves in in the second half to prevent Southampton getting back into the game.

Mohamed Elyounoussi went one vs one with Alisson in the 62nd minute but he was denied by an outstanding save by Liverpool's number one.

Seconds after, Alisson made another superb save to prevent Samuel Edozie from pulling one back.

He then made another extraordinary save to deny Adams with just under 15 minutes of normal time remaining.

A cross was swung in and Adams produced a powerful header from close range that looked destined to nestle in the back of the net.

But Alisson showed incredible reactions as he managed to get a strong hand to Adams' effort and keep it out.

His three outstanding saves have been compiled into a short video by Twitter user @ChiesaLFC and you can view it below...

He said: "For our second half we don't win the football Oscar. No chance. Maybe Ali wins it! We won the game today because of the first half and because of Ali."
