How does ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson’s net worth compare to that of his modern day boxing contemporaries?

Time for a bit of net-worth fun. We all like googling the net worth of our favourite celebrities then getting really sad about our own bank accounts right?

Nevertheless, let’s focus today on boxing legend Mike Tyson, a superstar and boxing powerhouse in the 1990’s, one of if not the all time greatest boxer of all time.

What is Mike Tyson's net worth?

Tyson announced a collaboration with Evander Holyfield this week with the duo launching a new line of edibles with a quite superb Christmas advert.

According to WealthyGorilla, Tyson’s net worth is a whopping $10 million as of November 2022.

A former Undisputed World Heavyweight Champion, with the record for being the youngest boxer to ever hold a world championship at only 20 years old, Tyson amassed himself quite the fortune across his stellar career.

Once estimated at $300 million though following his 1995 prison release, his wealth is a far cry from what it used to be.

How does Mike Tyson's net worth compare to other boxing stars?

How does that stack up against some of his boxing contemporaries though, the stars of boxing in the modern day?

Turns out, not well.

13. Bernard Hopkins ($40 million)

A litany of legends there, both modern and classic fighters all ranking above ‘Iron’ Mike.

Even YouTube boxing stars like KSI ($25 million), Jake Paul ($30 million) and Logan Paul ($35 million) storm past Tyson in these rankings, without any (besides Logan Paul) cracking the top fifteen of that list.

However, it’s interesting to note that on that list of 15, only two, George Forman and Floyd Mayweather, come close to Tyson’s $300 million peak, with Forman equaling it, and Mayweather surpassing it.

Adjusting Tyson’s $300 million for inflation though, and that would roar up to $558 million today, throwing him well abover Maywhether by over $100 million, and to the top of that list.

My question though, is would any of those top fifteen be able to take Tyson in the ring?
