Lionesses hero Jill Scott has revealed what Sydney Lohmann messaged her after the England star got into an altercation with the German at Wembley in the Euro 2022 final

Scott was part of the England squad that won the Euros on home soil but called time on her career soon after.

It was a fitting way for the 35-year-old to bow out, having made more than 160 appearances for the Lionesses during an international career which spanned 16 years.

What did Scott say to Lohmann during the Euro 2022 final?

While Scott didn’t feature much at Euro 2022, she did manage to make it onto the pitch in the final and played with the same intensity, aggression and passion we had all become accustomed to seeing.

The England star wore her heart on her sleeve, which led to a few choice words on one particular occasion.

In a clip which went viral at the time, Scott gives away a foul and is seen shouting obscenities at Lohmann, who she believed tripped her.

Jumping up from the ground, Scott squared up to the German and said : "F**k off, you f***ing p**ck,” before the referee intervened and separated the two players.

What did Scott make of the incident?

The incident was shared all over social media, with many stressing that the moment was somewhat iconic.

Speaking to the BBC, Scott reflected on what happened at Wembley and joked that the camera angle did her no favours.

"I go in for a tackle, I’m definitely winning that ball,” she said. "She [Lohmann] trips me up and then I said a few swear words. But to be fair, she did trip me up and swear at me but the camera angle was very unfortunate.”

What was Lohmann’s response to Scott?

Scott then admitted that she’d received a video message from Lohmann after the incident, but that it was all in jest.

"I didn’t speak to her after but Georgia Stanway did go and sign for Bayern Munich and when I retired, they both sent me a selfie video. She [Lohmann] said 'Good luck with your retirement, you [‘fu***ng p**ck’]’, so I think we’re friends now. I think everything is fine.”

Will Jill Scott win I’m A Celebrity?

Having retired from football, Scott has now ventured into the Australian jungle to take part in the latest series of I’m A Celebrity.

Recently, she opened up about how opposing teams’ parents used to verbally abuse her when she played as a youngster.

Scott is currently the bookies’ favourite to win the show, ahead of ex-rugby star Mike Tindall.
