When it was announced that Deji, the younger brother of YouTuber-turned-boxer KSI, was going to be stepping into the ring with Floyd Mayweather, very few gave him a chance.

He follows a list of crossover stars to come into boxing and challenge ‘Money’ Mayweather which includes Conor McGregor and Logan Paul.

While the exhibition bouts are mostly there as crowd pleasers, many people have had good showings against Mayweather with Deji being stopped in the final round and Logan Paul going the distance against the legendary boxer.

What were Deji's punching stats vs Floyd Mayweather?

Deji managed to land 25 punches on Mayweather over the six rounds, though, many have suggested that the American wasn’t taking the fight very seriously.

He was dancing in between rounds and has been accused by fans of pulling out of punches and intentionally missing strikes.

Though, the 25 punches that Deji landed is respectable given that Logan Paul managed just three more when he came up against Floyd in their eight-round fight in June of this year.

What was said after Deji vs Floyd Mayweather?

Following the fight, Deji was keen to stress how happy he was that he did the fight, before praising Floyd’s performance.

"It takes a lot to get in the ring, I am proud of myself for even doing this because initially I was scared to do this fight with Floyd. Now look at me, I'm out here with a big smile on my face.

"His punch placement was very good and his accuracy was immense, he's very slick. I did catch him, but I kind of doubted myself a bit in the ring, over time I was getting the flow of things."

Deji managed to give Floyd Mayweather a black eye during the bout, though, Floyd was quick to laugh this off in the post-fight interviews, stating that the black eye was good because it added to the entertainment of the fight.

"That's cool, you guys wanted to see a little something. I had to close the gap and when you close the gap that happens. I'm glad that Deji landed a good shot. This is part of fighting, this is part of entertaining. Everyone wanted to see entertainment and that's what we gave them."

How did Deji & Logan Paul compare to Conor McGregor?

The YouTubers both managed around the same number of strikes against one of the greatest boxers of all time, but both of their totals did not come close to that of the Notorious one.

Conor McGregor made his boxing debut against Mayweather in 2017 in an epic crossover of two fighting stars. The Irishman managed an impressive 111 punches against Mayweather, which is 30 more than iconic boxer Manny Pacquiao managed seven years ago.

YouTube crossovers into boxing are becoming more and more common, but it seems like they’ve still got a long way to go to match up to Conor McGregor, even outside of his natural environment of the UFC cage.
