The World Cup begins on the weekend and so many big names will be in action.

It could well be Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo's last appearances at a World Cup.

The two legends will be looking to lead their respective nations to glory in Qatar.

Neymar headlines a star-studded Brazil side, while world-class players including Robert Lewandowski, Kylian Mbappe and Karim Benzema will all participate.

But who is the best player at this year's World Cup?

ESPN have asked television analysts, reporters, columnists, producers and editors from across the world to vote on who they believe to be the best players participating in Qatar.

Two of the world's most talented youngsters make the top 50: Saka (48th) and Gavi (45th). Both could play a big part in the upcoming tournament.

Jesus sneaked into Brazil's squad after an impressive start to the season with Arsenal and has been ranked the 39th best player in Qatar.

Alexander-Arnold is rated the 35th best player in Qatar, but there are question marks surrounding how much game-time he is given by Gareth Southgate.

He just finishes above another highly talented right-back and Morocco's star player, Hakimi.

Despite Ronaldo's struggles this season, he has been named the 20th best player at the World Cup. He will be looking to rediscover his magic on the world's biggest stage.

Also joining him in the top 20 are Portugal teammates Cancelo and Silva.

Kane is England's best player at the World Cup and has been ranked 11th, just above Liverpool star, Van Dijk.

Mbappe has been named the best player at this World Cup, ahead of compatriot in 2022 Ballon d'Or winner, Benzema.

De Bruyne just about pips Messi to the podium places.

Lewandowski makes the top five, with Neymar, Modric, Vinicius and Courtois also in the top 10.

Mane suffered an injury prior to the World Cup and a statement has confirmed he will miss Senegal's first games. Whether he will play any part in Qatar remains to be seen.
