Manchester United's Jadon Sancho needs to start performing in the immediate future, or he risks his future at the club, according to journalist Dean Jones.

The winger has fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford, and has only been given limited game time by manager Erik ten Hag so far this season.

What is the latest news involving Sancho?

Sancho has not featured for the Red Devils since a 51-minute cameo against Chelsea in late October, with the likes of Anthony Elanga and Marcus Rashford instead being preferred in the starting lineup.

The 22-year-old was missing from the squad entirely for the recent trip to Fulham, and this absence is believed by journalist Ross Harwood to be due to his attitude, which is deemed unacceptable by Ten Hag.

As a result of being in and out of the United team this season, the club's £73m signing has not been picked by England manager Gareth Southgate in his 26-man squad for the Qatar World Cup, in the latest blow to the youngster.

What has Jones said about Sancho?

Jones has casted doubt on whether Sancho has a future in a Man United shirt, especially considering the emergence of promising young talent Alejandro Garnacho in his position.

In an interview with GIVEMESPORT, Jones said:

"Sancho is going to have to really fight from this moment on to make sure he has a future at the club, I'm not sure if he does to be honest with you. You've seen how he struggled to find form consistently and to find a role in this team.

"You'd have thought that the opportunity would have come by now and with Garnacho coming onto the scene, it's just the latest challenge for him."

Should Man United sell Sancho?

The former Dortmund winger appeared to tick all the boxes for Man United upon his arrival at the club, displaying unbelievable creative talents during his stint in Germany, with 34 goal contributions in 32 games during the 2019-20 Bundesliga season.

However, despite being described as an "elite talent" by journalist Musa Okwonga, he has so far flattered to deceive in the Premier League, and time appears to be running out due to Garnacho's performances in recent weeks.

While Sancho has struggled in a red shirt, his previous exploits indicate that he has more than enough talent to succeed at the club, and he has proven it at times, scoring a remarkable goal against Manchester City at the Etihad in March.

With the £350k-a-week man's contract not expiring until 2026, he should be given another opportunity at Old Trafford, but it really is getting to the stage of last chance saloon.
