Leeds United star Mateusz Klich could seal his departure in January after being left 'annoyed' at Elland Road, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

The central midfielder has been on the Whites' books since completing a move from Dutch side FC Twente in 2017, but he appears to be moving towards the exit door.

What's the latest news involving Klich?

Klich suffered a major blow earlier this month as his dreams of representing Poland at the World Cup were left in tatters thanks to missing out on the squad heading to Qatar.

Poland boss Czeslaw Michniewicz has admitted 'it was not an easy decision' to overlook the 32-year-old when he was selecting who deserved to be on the flight to the Middle East.

According to TEAMtalk, the snub is likely to result in Klich seeking a move away from Leeds when the transfer window reopens in January.

The report suggests falling down the pecking order since Jesse Marsch's appointment as the Whites' boss has cost him the opportunity to add to his 41 caps on the biggest stage.

It comes after it emerged during the summer that Klich was determined to move onto pastures new.

What has Dean Jones said about Klich?

Jones understands why Klich would feel frustrated after being omitted from Poland's squad for the World Cup.

The journalist believes a move away from the Yorkshire giants could be on the cards when the transfer window reopens for business.

Jones told GIVEMESPORT: "It makes sense that he would probably be annoyed at the moment, particularly over the fact that he hasn't made it to the World Cup with Poland.

"That'll be playing on his mind once they return to action too. I think Klich could be one that goes in January."

Should Leeds sell Klich in January?

It is clear that Klich is not at the forefront of Marsch's thinking, having been restricted to just 11 starts since the American arrived at Leeds.

He will enter the final 18 months of his £34,000-per-week contract at the turn of the year and, with that being the case, a parting of ways in January could be best for all parties.

However, Klich is not the only midfielder being linked with a mid-season exit as it is understood that Leeds are willing to listen to offers for Adam Forshaw.

If the 31-year-old departs, Leeds may be better off holding onto Klich, who has made 192 appearances for the club.

But there is a serious possibility that the Whites, who are just two points clear of the Premier League's relegation zone, could allow Klich and Forshaw to leave as Marsch continues his rebuild.
