Morgan then brought Rooney into the equation

After sharing a laugh with Ronaldo, Morgan decided to mention Rooney.

"I'm just trying to work out how Wayne Rooney could hate you even more, probably that's the answer," the high-profile journalist said.

Ronaldo replied: "Well, not only him, imagine the rest of the 'rats' that are going to criticise me too!"

Ronaldo certainly isn't a fan of Rooney these days, to say the least.

During the 90 minute interview with Morgan, the Real Madrid icon called out the Englishman for what he views as jealousy towards him.

Ronaldo said: “I don’t know why he [Rooney] criticises me so badly. Probably because he finished his career and I’m still playing at high level. I’m not going to say that I’m looking better than him. Which is true…”

Ouch.

Rooney's classy words about Ronaldo after criticism

Despite the fact he's been slammed by Ronaldo, Rooney would still love to see his former colleague win the 2022 World Cup.

Speaking to the Times of India, the DC United manager said: "I would love to see either [Lionel] Messi or [Cristiano] Ronaldo win the World Cup, it would be a fitting end to their incredible careers."

Fair play to you, Wazza.
