Jake Dennis has been speaking as the new Formula E season draws ever nearer and the London E-Prix tickets go on sale.

The British driver has had great success in recent years at the indoor/outdoor venue at the Excel Centre in east London and will surely be itching to get back there next summer to try and add to his two victories over the last couple of years.

Indeed, he earned a P1 and P2 over the course of the 2022 London Eprix as his season finished strongly, and he'll be looking to maintain the form we saw from him in the final few rounds into next campaign, as Gen3 arrives for the ninth installment of the championship at the start of 2023.

Speaking to the press on a media call earlier this week, Dennis explained how excited he was already about driving on home turf once again next year, especially given the setting in which the track is based:

"I think the biggest thing is definitely just with it being indoors and outdoors. You know, I don't know any other professional motorsport which has such a unique aspect to a racetrack.

"On top of that, we obviously had two good results in 2021 and 2022.

"It's obviously a bit of a different track next year. So I'm sure that's going to change things around and change the performance of what works and what doesn't work. We should know the new cars pretty well by that point so hopefully won't really cause too many headaches for too many teams.

"Ending the season in London, as well, we don't have to catch a flight home on Sunday night either, which is always a bonus."

It's certainly shaping up to be an exciting year of FE racing in 2023 and, with the new-improved Gen3 cars ready to step into the limelight, Dennis also revealed what he's noticed about them in testing so far:

"I've tried the Gen3 two times and it's so far, so good - we seem to be in a pretty good position. We're just trying to get our heads around all the new systems - they're obviously very different to what BMW supplied but nevertheless, we seem in a pretty good position from what we can gather so far.

"[Testing] in Valencia will definitely be our best bet of seeing how efficient we are with a new powertrain. The car itself is obviously quite a lot quicker in terms of straight-line speed and it's pretty light now as well, so I think it's gonna create good racing."
