It's a real shame Mohamed Salah will not be present at the 2022 World Cup.The Liverpool star's Egypt side, who reached the final of the Africa Cup of Nations earlier in the year, fell at the final hurdle in the tournament's qualification round.Senegal, the team that beat them in the AFCON final, progressed at their expense after beating The Pharaohs on penalties - as they did in the aforementioned final. So it sadly means we won't be seeing Salah lighting up football pitches across Qatar this winter. However, the former Chelsea winger was still able to produce some international magic in Kuwait on Friday evening ahead of the World Cup's kick-off on Sunday.Egypt did battle with one of the tournament favourites Belgium and in the second half of the friendly at the Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium, Salah proved once again that he's far more than just a goalscorer. The 30-year-old received the ball just inside his own half and with one swing of his famous left peg, he put former Aston Villa forward Trezeguet through on goal.It really was a pass worthy of Belgium's talisman Kevin De Bruyne. Trezeguet duly accepted the gift from his captain and fired the ball past Thibaut Courtois to put Egypt 2-0 ahead in the match.Check out the magnificent Salah assist in all of its glory...

Brilliant, just brilliant from a world-class footballer. The burst of pace from Trezeguet was rather eye-catching as well.

As it says in the tweet above, Salah's game really has evolved in recent times. He's now an elite-level creator, on top of being one of the world's premiere goal-getters.

Salah's latest sublime assist helped Egypt claim a 2-1 victory over Belgium, a late goal from Ikoma Lois Openda halving the deficit for the hosts. Mostafa Mohamed scored the African side's opener in the 34th minute.

How has Salah played for Liverpool in 2022/23?

While the 2022/23 season hasn't been his best thus far, Salah's overall numbers are still pretty darn impressive.

In 21 matches across all competitions, the three-time Premier League Golden Boot winner has scored 14 goals and assisted a further five.

Not bad, eh? In the Champions League, Salah has well and truly wreaked havoc, with seven goals coming from his six appearances.

Three of those were in one night away at Rangers, a treble which now ranks as the fastest in the competition's long history.

Imagine how good he's going to be after getting some much needed rest during the World Cup winter break...
