Chelsea are 'in the race' to sign Endrick and 'fighting' to lure the Palmeiras talent to Stamford Bridge, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.

Having been appointed as the Blues' head coach in September, Graham Potter is looking to make his first acquisition in the coming weeks.

What's the latest news involving Endrick?

Respected Italian journalist Romano has revealed that Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are pushing to sign Endrick, who has a release clause worth close to £52million written into his Palmeiras contract.

Speaking to Canal do Nicola, via the Evening Standard, the 16-year-old's father has claimed that PSG are the only side to have opened negotiations over a potential deal despite clubs from several countries showing an interest.

Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City, Barcelona, Ajax and Benfica have also been monitoring Endrick, but it appears that Chelsea have upped the ante in their pursuit.

That is because the west Londoners have reportedly hosted his family at the club's Cobham training ground and introduced him to fellow Brazilian Thiago Silva.

It is understood that Endrick's preference is to seal a switch to Chelsea, meaning Potter's side are in the driving seat.

What has Fabrizio Romano said about Endrick?

Romano is aware that Chelsea's biggest competition for Endrick's signature comes from PSG and Real Madrid at this stage.

However, with the Premier League giants looking to wrap up a deal which would see the South American move to Stamford Bridge in 2024, the journalist has claimed other sides could test Palmeiras' resolve.

In an interview held with GIVEMESPORT last week, Romano said: "The three clubs are fighting and Chelsea are in the race. They want to try and they want to discuss.

"Palmeiras want €60million. That is the value of the release clause, but they could accept a different kind of structure of the deal with the package, including add-ons and bonuses.

"Remember the player would be joining in 2024, so it's a long-term project around Endrick and not a short-term project, but Chelsea are there.

"They have a chance to sign Endrick. As of today, yes, but it could change in a day because there are three clubs fighting for Endrick and there are also many rumours about Barcelona and Manchester United."

Has Endrick been prolific in front of goal?

Having scored 165 goals in 169 appearances for Palmeiras’ academy side, Endrick has taken to senior football like a duck to water.

The teenage sensation has found the back of the net on three occasions and registered an assist in just 306 minutes of action, emphasising his talent.

Endrick has also made an impression on the international stage by getting his name on the scoresheet five times in four Brazil under-17 outings, so there is no doubt that he would be an exciting, long-term addition to Chelsea's squad.
