West Ham United's Vladimir Coufal is "not part of the plans" devised by David Moyes at the London Stadium, according to journalist Dharmesh Sheth.

The right-back has only received limited game time this season, and could be shipped out by the club in the January transfer window to make room for new additions.

What is the latest news involving Coufal?

German journalist Marlon Irlbacher reported that there had been "positive talks" held between Coufal and Bayer Leverkusen over a proposed move in the upcoming market, although he is not their main priority, as other positions need strengthening first.

However, reports are conflicting, with Football London sources indicating that there is no truth in the links between the 30-year-old and the German club at the moment, despite falling out of favour at the London Stadium.

The 34-time Czechia international currently has his contract up at the end of the season, but West Ham maintain an option to extend it by two years if they wish, depending on whether the club feel that they can attract a big enough fee for him to make it worthwhile.

What has Sheth said about Coufal?

Sheth believes that Coufal's time playing for the Hammers may be up, as Moyes' business in the transfer window shows that he has lost his faith in the £30,000-a-week earner.

In an interview with GIVEMESPORT, Sheth said:

"If you look at the stats, seven Premier League starts this season, the likes of Ben Johnson have started ahead of him at right-back, but I think more significantly, when Nayef Aguerd was injured at centre-back in pre-season, West Ham United brought in Thilo Kehrer.

"I think he was predominantly brought in as a central-defender, but what has transpired is he's ended up playing right-back. If that's not a message to Vladimir Coufal that he's not part of the plans, I don't know what is."

Is it time for Coufal to leave West Ham?

Coufal has been a good servant to the club during the Hammers' rise up the table over the past few years, racking up seven assists in 34 appearances en-route to Europa League qualification in the 2021-22 season.

That said, it is obvious that Moyes does not trust the former Slavia Prague man anymore, as evidenced by just nine total appearances in the Premier League so far this season.

With £30m summer signing Nayef Aguerd now back in contention after an ankle injury sustained in pre-season had previously ruled him out, game time is likely to be even more limited for Coufal if he remains at the London Stadium, so it would be wise to move him on in the January transfer window.
