The NFL is through Week 11 of the 2022 season and as always, there were a few results that are set to have some major ramifications on the balance of power across the league.

Whether it be the Dallas Cowboys’ huge statement win over the Minnesota Vikings, the incredible finish between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Los Angeles Chargers or the slugfest that was the New England Patriots’ late win over the New York Jets, this weekend in the NFL brought us a lot of big results.

This past week was the final slate of games before Thanksgiving in the United States, and that usually marks a pretty big milestone in any NFL season. In the next few weeks, playoff spots are going to be clinched, eliminations will be confirmed and we will be keeping an eye out for which teams are trying to get hot as they enter the postseason as they hope to go on a run all the way to the Super Bowl in Arizona in early February.

So right now it is all the more important that teams are positioning themselves in the best possible spot in order to make sure they have a say in what is going to be happening when the season approaches crunch time over the next month and a half.

But just how did the results from this past weekend change our power rankings? Well let’s find out:

10 - New England Patriots (Not Ranked last week)

Not exactly a thrilling victory at home against a New York Jets side that has struggled on the offensive side of the ball all season, but this felt like an old-school New England Patriots side that found an opponent’s weakness and exploited it, and it worked.

Less said about the offense the better, but the Jets have been impressive on defense all year, so there’s no shame in struggling against them this time, they just have to hope to fix those adjustments moving forward.

9 - Tennessee Titans (No Change from last week)

Coming up against a Green Bay Packers side that was at home, on a short week and coming off a big win against the Dallas Cowboys, the Tennessee Titans had it all against them, but they did the job professionally and executed a perfect gameplan with Derrick Henry running the ball 28 times.

They might have to be wary about how they use him going forward and not to tire him out, but if he can be that effective in the playoffs, they have every chance to make some real noise and might upset a few along the way.

8 - Miami Dolphins (-1 from last week)

Had a bye week, so nothing to really speak about.

7 - Baltimore Ravens (-2)

This might seem a bit harsh in moving them down two spots considering that they did win the game, but given how unconvincing it was, against a struggling Carolina Panthers team I can’t justify putting them as high as they were last week, especially considering what teams around them were able to do (more on that later).

6 - San Francisco 49ers (No Change)

Did the job they were asked to do against a poor Arizona Cardinals side, but this did serve as a possible jumping-off point for quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, who went 20-29 for 228 passing yards and 4 touchdowns, shrugging off the ‘game manager’ tag for one week at least.

If he can keep that up in the coming weeks, this offense is going to go from strength to strength and there might not be anyone in the league that can stop them.

5 - Dallas Cowboys (+3)

40-3, on the road, against a team who are aguably the second best team in the conference over the past few weeks and just the perfect all-round performance, there’s not a lot more that you can say about the Dallas Cowboys’ win over the Minnesota Vikings.

4 - Minnesota Vikings (-1)

Yes, the Minnesota Vikings’ loss to the Dallas Cowboys was a disaster on their side, but given the fact they were still coming off such a high from their crazy win over the Buffalo Bills the week before, this was probably just them suffering from a ‘comedown shock’, and we doubt it will happen again this season.

So even though they lost this one, it’s hard to drop them below the Cowboys just yet.

3 - Philadelphia Eagles (-1)

Much like the Baltimore Ravens, this wasn’t a convincing win for the Philadelphia Eagles, who might still be in shock after losing their first and only game of the season a week ago on Monday night, and if that is the case, then they need to snap out of it and soon.

Because if they don’t then there are going to be plenty of teams that will pounce on them and take advantage when the time comes, both in the regular season and in the playoffs.

2 - Buffalo Bills (+2)

Back to business, and extra points go their way for having to deal with the late change of venue which had all the makings of a disaster waiting to happen with so many changes coming late in the week. Josh Allen was worryingly not quite himself as he threw for less than 200 yards, but that might still be the impact of his UCL injury from a few weeks ago playing him up.

Hopefully that gets sorted soon, because he is essentially a one-man offense for the Buffalo Bills and they can’t afford for him to be anything less than 100% if they’re to become champions.

1 - Kansas City Chiefs (No Change)

Last week’s #1 team, and with a win they keep hold of that spot this week. Not just because of their win, but because of the manner in which they did it, digging deep and showing how they can perform in big moments when trailing late. That is something they may have to rely on in the playoffs and at least now they’re getting the practice in.
