Whilst Anthony Joshua versus Tyson Fury, a.k.a. the Battle of Britain, is something that has been discussed as a possibility in the world of boxing for far too long, believe it or not, there are parallels in the UFC.

And no, we're not talking about Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Tony Ferguson. Not this time, anyway! Although, the Russian did name his old nemesis when asked which three fighters did he wish he fought during his career.

This time around we're talking about two other icons in the industry who are in talks to cross paths next year, most likely at UFC 285, in the form of Jon Jones and Francis Ngannou.

UFC 285 - what do we know so far?

All we know so far is that the pay-per-view will take place on March 4, 2023 and be held at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

It's being reported that Dana White wants to see Jones vs Ngannou on said card, which would be the former's heavyweight debut.

Starting first with Jones and his reputation proceeds him in this sphere.

He is considered by many to be one of the greatest pound-for-pound fighters there has ever been and he has a lot of records to his name. Amongst those are the most wins in UFC title fights (with 14) and the youngest fighter to win a UFC championship (at the age of 23 years and 242 days).

Next, to the Cameroonian Ngannou and he is also a true powerhouse in both the past and the present when he enters the Octagon.

His last bout saw him defeat Ciryl Gane back in January, a unanimous decision victory at UFC 270 in Anaheim, California. In this fight he defended and also unified the UFC heavyweight championship.

Beyond this win over Gane, Ngannou has disposed of Junior dos Santos as well as getting revenge against Stipe Miocic, who is often labelled as the greatest heavyweight in the company's history. Miocic beat Ngannou at UFC 220 in Boston before the Predator struck back at UFC 260 in Las Vegas.

Jones vs Ngannou simulated

Attentions turning back towards both of the two men in question and with their bout in the works, it has been simulated on UFC 4.

In a fierce ground battle, Jon Bones Jones prevails in the late stages of the first round via submission.

Jones holds Ngannou to the floor in an arm bar and as he is unable to escape, the latter is forced to tap out.

Could we see that happen next year? Time will tell, but it's certainly one fight we want to see happen!

Fingers crossed it's not like the certain AJ vs Fury fight we mentioned earlier.
