Brazil have well and truly arrived at the 2022 World Cup.

The favourites to win the Qatar tournament played their first group stage match against Serbia on Thursday evening and one of their main men lit up the Lusail Stadium.

Richarlison, the team's undisputed number nine, was the star of the show - as he usually is on international duty.

The Tottenham Hotspur forward opened the scoring in the second half with a close-range finish, before bagging the goal of the tournament thus far.

It was a moment of footballing beauty from Richarlison, one that perfectly summed up Brazilian football.

The electric Vinicius Junior fired the ball into his teammate's path and in response, Richarlison produced an outrageous acrobatic finish after taking a perfect first touch to set himself up.

As volleys go, it's right up there with the best we've seen by a player in 2022.

Stunning, simply stunning. We will not see many better goals scored at the Qatar World Cup and the outside-of-the-foot pass from Vinicius certainly deserves some serious praise as well.

And footage of the incredible goal captured from the stands somehow makes it look even better...

Is it really any wonder football is referred to as 'the beautiful game', eh?

Richarlison has now scored 19 goals for the Selecao and he seems to be one of the few players who thrives more on the international stage than the domestic one.

He's yet to score for Spurs in the Premier League this season, although the versatile forward did at least bag two in the Champions League in a 2-0 win over Marseille.

So, Brazil have kicked off their 2022 World Cup campaign with a win, although it wasn't all positives for Tite on Thursday night.

His team's star man Neymar had to be taken off with an suspected ankle injury and images of him from the Brazil bench don't paint the best of pictures.

We can only hope the Paris Saint-Germain star makes a full recovery in time for Brazil's next group match against Switzerland.

Because a World Cup without Neymar just isn't the same...
