Leeds United have 'reached out' to AC Milan as they look to lure Charles De Ketelaere to Elland Road, according to CBS reporter Ben Jacobs.

Whites boss Jesse Marsch spent close to £100million during the summer transfer window, but he will be given another opportunity to bolster his squad at the turn of the year.

What's the latest news involving De Ketelaere?

According to TEAMtalk, Leeds have been in contact with AC Milan and asked to be kept informed of their plans for De Ketelaere.

The report suggests director of football Victor Orta and Marsch, who was appointed as the Whites' head coach in February, are admirers of the attacking midfielder and would be interested if a deal becomes a possibility.

Leeds looked to sign De Ketelaere during the summer transfer window and lodged a bid worth £25.8million plus add-ons, but he joined AC Milan from Club Brugge instead.

The Belgian's switch to the San Siro was worth £29million, but he has struggled to make an impact in his new surroundings.

De Ketelaere is still searching for his first goal and has provided just one assist in 18 appearances this season.

What has Ben Jacobs said about De Ketelaere?

Jacobs understands that Leeds are keeping a close eye on De Ketelaere and, as a result, have been in contact with AC Milan.

The journalist believes the Yorkshire giants' interest in the 21-year-old is refusing to go away despite their failed pursuit a matter of months ago.

Jacobs told GIVEMESPORT: "I think one name to mention is still Charles De Ketelaere.

"Leeds have reached out to Milan to see whether anything is or isn't possible and they've previously been linked with De Ketelaere.

"He had a standout 2021/2022 campaign for Brugge. He scored 18 goals, got 10 assists and then, of course, he only just joined Milan."

Will Leeds be watching De Ketelaere at the World Cup?

De Ketelaere bagged a place in Belgium's 26-man squad for the World Cup, so there is no doubt that Marsch will be monitoring his transfer target's performances in Qatar.

The AC Milan talent will be hopeful of adding to his 10 caps at the tournament, but he was an unused substitute as his country got the group stage underway with a 1-0 win over Canada.

With Belgium still having to face Morocco and Croatia in Group F, De Ketelaere will be keen to secure game-time.

However, Leeds will be aware that impressive performances at the World Cup could result in AC Milan increasing his price tag or even insisting he is not for sale.
