Chelsea are likely to sign both Christopher Nkunku and Arsen Zakharyan according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

Both transfers would happen ahead of next season, but any other deals could rely on players moving out of Stamford Bridge.

How close are Nkunku and Zakharyan to signing for Chelsea?

Both Christopher Nkunku and Arsenal Zakharyan are players that have been closely linked with Chelsea in recent months.

The Blues were hopeful of signing 19-year-old Zakharyan in the summer from Dynamo Moscow, but were blocked from completing the £12.6m transfer due to sanctions on Russian clubs due to the war in Ukraine.

However, Fabrizio Ramano has reported that negotiations between the two clubs have continued and that Chelsea remain the favourites to sign the attacker.

As for Nkunku, who was ruled out of the World Cup on the eve of the tournament with a knee injury, reports suggest that the deal for the French star is all but wrapped up.

What does Dean Jones say about the transfers?

Transfer insider Jones says the two players are expected to be Chelsea stars and both deals are likely to happen.

Jones told GIVEMESPORT: "What we know is the Nkunku deal is being pushed through, there's also the deal for Zakharyan that is being viewed as a priority. So those two are good and likely transfers that will happen, anything else I think is going to probably rely on some players moving out first."

What would Nkunku and Zakharyan add to the Blues?

One of Chelsea's biggest issues so far this season has been a focal point in attack, and it's an issue that Nkunku could solve.

Raheem Sterling is currently the Blues leading scorer, but has only managed five strikes, with Kai Havertz on four and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang netting three times. The low totals mean Graham Potter's men have struggled for goals and have netted just 17 times in the Premier League - the lowest total in the top half.

In contrast, the £52.8m-valued Nkunku leads the Bundesliga goal-scoring charts, and has netted 12 times in the league this season, and 17 in all competitions.

Zakharyan would also add to Chelsea's attack, although the teenager would be seen as very much one for the future. The midfielder has scored twice in 20 appearances for Dynamo this season and would add competition to Potter's vast array of attacking options if he does make the transfer to West London.
