England 0-0 United States of America wasn't exactly a game for the ages.In a drab and dreary match thats summoned up memories of England's 0-0 draw with Scotland in the second game of the Euro 2020 group stages, Gareth Southgate's men limped their way to the fifth goalless match of the tournament.In truth, the USA were much the better side with Tyler Adams proving an absolute powerhouse in midfield and Christian Pulisic coming closest to scoring by rattling the crossbar in the first-half.

The Three Lions, on the other hand, never looked like giving Matt Turner too much to worry about with a semi-decent strike by Mason Mount and a wayward header from Harry Kane proving their only real chances.
Besides, you know it was a pretty miserable 90 minutes to sit through when it was being compared to England's performances in the 2010 World Cup group stages where they staggered to 1-1 and 0-0 draws with the USA and Algeria.
All in all, the game will best be remembered for, well, best being forgotten.
However, if you're an English or American fan, at least take solace in the knowledge that you will have been an extra 1-2% entertained by the fact that you actually had a horse in the race.
Spare a thought for the neutral fans who simply wanted to enjoy their Friday night with some World Cup drama only to end up with what can only be described as a 'snoozefest'.

And in the case of YouTube phenomena IShowSpeed, it really was a 'snoozefest' because his decision to produce one of his trademark livestreams for the match at Al Bayt Stadium didn't exactly prove to be the most fulfilling call of his career.
Unlike the drama of Portugal's 3-2 win over Ghana that saw Speed at his animated best watching his idol, Cristiano Ronaldo, in action, the watching-paint-dry feel of England vs USA left him trying to get some sleep.
In fact, just minutes after the final whistle blew, an image of Speed pretending to be fast asleep during his livestream went viral - and it certainly summed up how most fans were feeling.

And with so much of the pre-match back and forth on Twitter having strangely revolved around the 'football vs soccer' debate, England fans might feel the sting when they're reminded that they couldn't beat 'the country who calls it soccer'.

Speed might not be everybody's cup of tea, but it's fair to assume that plenty of supporters with three lions on their chest will have been feeling similarly on Friday night.

However, it's important to emphasise that England still have plenty to feel positive about as they remain in pole position in Group B on four points, while Iran sit on three, the USA boast two and Wales bring up the rear on one.
The Three Lions will conclude their group stage matches with a clash against their neighbours that will take place on Tuesday, November 29 at 19:00 (GMT) in the Ahmad bin Ali Stadium.
