Spain boss Luis Enrique has said he'd never play Ferran Torres again if he did the 'thumb' celebration.

Torres is currently dating Enrique's daughter, Sira Martinez, and dedicated his two goals against Costa Rica on Wednesday to her.

But he should think again if he plans to announce news of his pregnancy by sticking his thumb in his mouth in celebration.

Enrique: Torres would never play again

Enrique was asked what he would do if Torres did that, Enrique replied hilariously.

"I would replace him in that moment, put him on the stands, and he wouldn't set foot on a football pitch again," Enrique said.

Brilliant.

Enrique: I won't ban sex at World Cup

The comment comes in the same week in which Enrique admitted that he wouldn't ban his players having sex during the World Cup - as long as it's not an orgy.

"It’s ridiculous (to ban it). It's something I consider totally normal," he said.

If you're at an orgy the night before a match then obviously that’s not ideal, but when I’m a club coach the players are at home the night before a game and it’s not something that worries me at all.

"If it’s something they do then it’s because they need to and want to. But I repeat with common sense! Each one with their partner. It’s normal. When I was a player if I was at home before a game, with my wife, well we did what we had to do."

Enrique: I'm most similar to Torres

And then, when asked which Spanish player he was most similar to Enrique named Torres himself.

'"That's very easy - It's Mr Ferran Torres - otherwise my daughter will come after me and chop off my head.'"

Torres thanks Enrique

Torres has been very thankful for Enrique's treatment of him in the Spain national team.

“I only have words of thanks. I consider him my father, he is like our father,” he explained.

“Since I have come to the national team, he has welcomed me in a spectacular way, he has given me all his confidence.

“This is what any player would want.”

Spain will be looking to follow up their 7-0 victory over Costa Rica when they play Germany on Sunday.

And if Torres adds to the two goals he scored in the opener, watch out for his thumb. He'd be a very brave man if he put it anywhere near his mouth!
