Messi wins Man of the Match award

Messi picked up the Man of the Match award for his performance against Mexico, who are now unlikely to qualify for the 2022 World Cup knockout rounds.

As well as scoring a tremendous goal, the 35-year-old also provided the assist for Enzo Fernandez to put the La Albiceleste 2-0 up in the closing stages.

Who do Argentina play next?

Argentina face Poland in their third and final Group C match on November 30.

Messi and his teammates need a victory to top the group, but a point should still be enough to see them safely through to the Round of 16.
