Everton want a "big offer" for Jordan Pickford if they decide to sell him, according to journalist Paul Brown.

Brown says the England international is not a player Frank Lampard wants to get rid of, but if a serious bid arrives at Goodison Park, he thinks the Toffees may reconsider their current stance.

Everton transfer news - Jordan Pickford

Earlier this month, The Sun claimed that Chelsea planned to watch Pickford, who Peter Crouch described as a "top-class goalkeeper" on BT Sport (via TEAMtalk), during the World Cup.

The Blues could soon find themselves in the market for a new shot-stopper, and it looks like they have England's No.1 on their list.

Graham Potter currently has Kepa Arrizabalaga and Edouard Mendy to call upon, but the latter's future at Stamford Bridge is far from certain right now.

As per the Daily Mail, Chelsea and the Senegal star are struggling to come to an agreement over a new deal, explaining the west London club's reported interest in Pickford.

What has Paul Brown said about Jordan Pickford and Everton?

Brown has told GIVEMESPORT that Everton do not want to sell Pickford. However, the journalist reckons a huge bid would test their resolve.

Speaking to GMS, the journalist said: "I don't think for one minute that Everton want to sell Jordan Pickford. I don't think they're in talks to sell him with anyone. If a club comes in with a big offer, it may make them think twice. But he's not the player they want to sell at the moment."

Jordan Pickford's height

Pickford, who cost Everton £30m (via BBC Sport), stands at 6 ft 1, so the Toffees star is not the tallest of goalkeepers. That, however, has not stopped him from having a good career in the Premier League.

As per Transfermarkt, he has made 225 appearances in the English top flight and kept 57 clean sheets. Ultimately, he is quite proven in this division, so it is not a complete shock to hear that Chelsea are currently looking at him.

Should Jordan Pickford be a starter for England?

Arsenal's Aaron Ramsdale headed to the World Cup in great form, with his seven Premier League clean sheets helping the Gunners climb to the top of the table.

It would not have been completely far-fetched if Gareth Southgate gave him the nod over Pickford in Qatar. At the same time, though, Pickford's familiarity with this England squad and his heroics at past tournaments probably justify him still being the Three Lions' No.1.

It was Pickford who, of course, helped Southgate's side to go far in the 2018 World Cup, saving a spot-kick in a penalty shoot-out against Colombia en route to the semi-finals, while the 28-year-old also played his part in the team reaching the Euro 2020 final.
