Otto Wallin has a "good" chance of being Anthony Joshua's next opponent for his comeback fight, according to Dan Rafael.

Joshua, the former unified heavyweight world champion, is now expected to fight in early 2023.

Who will Anthony Joshua fight next?

His opponent, however, is yet to be named, and it could hinge on last Saturday's fight between Dillian Whyte and Jermaine Franklin.

Promoter Eddie Hearn recently expressed interest in a rematch between Joshua and Whyte.

AJ previously fought Whyte when the former was the British heavyweight champion in 2015.

He won the fight via knockout, brutally stopping his rival in the seventh round.

Since then, he has gone on to become a two-time world champion, before losing the belts to Oleksandr Usyk on points in London in 2021.

What has Dan Rafael said about Otto Wallin?

Of the two, Whyte now seems the most likely option.

But according to Rafael, Wallin cannot be ruled out as a potential opponent.

In an exclusive interview with GIVEMESPORT.com, he mused: "Otto Wallin is also a possibility.

"I mean, he's a good contender, I think a lot of people would watch that fight and sort of compare it to Otto's fight with Tyson Fury. It would be used as a measuring stick, you know, how does Joshua do against Otto compared to how did Fury do against Otto?

"You know, Otto didn't win the fight against Fury, but he acquitted himself extremely well, it was highly competitive. He came into the fight as an unknown, he left very well known, he opened up those two big cuts on Tyson Fury, and, you know, did himself proud.

"I mean if there's ever such thing as a good loss, Otto Wallin against Tyson Fury, that would qualify in my estimation as a good loss. So I think that's a possibility. And the other thing about Wallin is he's not in a situation where he's got to worry about some sort of entanglement with a broadcaster or a promoter that, you know, Eddie doesn't get along with or vice versa.

You know, he does his thing. He's with a, you know, a promotion team and a management team that are able to do business with anybody. So I think that's a good possibility."
