Leeds United head coach Jesse Marsch is 'a big fan' of Pedro and the Elland Road outfit's pursuit of the Flamengo star is 'one to watch', according to CBS reporter Ben Jacobs.

The Whites spent close to £100million during the summer, according to Transfermarkt, but they could splash the cash when the transfer window reopens in January.

Leeds transfer news - Pedro

According to Brazilian media outlet Coluna do Fla, Leeds are preparing to reignite their interest in Pedro, who has a release clause worth close to £87million written into his Flamengo contract.

It comes after respected Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano told GIVEMESPORT that the Whites monitored the striker during the final stages of the summer transfer window.

Pedro's Flamengo contract - which is worth £24,000-per-week according to Salary Sport - is due to expire in the summer of 2024.

The 25-year-old is currently in Qatar after he was included in Brazil's World Cup squad by head coach Tite.

But Pedro is not the only attack-minded star to have worked his way onto Marsch's radar as TEAMtalk have revealed that Leeds have been in contact with AC Milan and asked to be kept informed of Charles De Ketelaere's availability.

What has Ben Jacobs said about Pedro?

Jacobs understands that Leeds boss Marsch is a huge admirer of Pedro and there is a possibility that he will head to Yorkshire.

However, the journalist believes the frontman's performances at the World Cup could result in other suitors looking to strike a deal.

Jacobs told GIVEMESPORT: "Jesse Marsch is a big fan and we know that Leeds need a few more goals and assists because of their reliance on Patrick Bamford, so that's one to watch.

"But, of course, Leeds are in a difficult position because the more he features at the World Cup or the better he does, the more he may potentially put himself in the shop window to other suitors as well.

"But Leeds have done a fair amount of due diligence and scouting on the player, even predating Jesse Marsch, so he's one to watch as far as Leeds and the World Cup are concerned."

Why is Pedro on Leeds' radar?

According to BBC Sport, commentator Guy Mowbray has described Pedro as a 'classy player' and 'excellent finisher', which emphasises his talent.

This has been a memorable year for the South American and, as per Transfermarkt, he has racked up 39 goal contributions in 59 appearances.

FBref statistics show Pedro has averaged more goals, assists and shots per 90 minutes than current Leeds striker Bamford, which further demonstrates that he would be an astute signing.

He certainly caught the eye when he grabbed a hat-trick and achieved a 9.1 match rating, via SofaScore, during a 4-1 win over Red Bull Bragantino last month.
