Emma Raducanu has revealed her hilarious New Year’s resolution after spilling a drink down herself while out in London.

The 20-year-old is currently preparing for next season, returning to the tennis court this week as she continues her recovery from a wrist injury.

Raducanu has also been able to spend time with her friends and family in London, something she would have missed out earlier in the year while competing on the WTA Tour.

As a result, the British star’s Instagram account is full of photos and videos of her activities while at home, and her most recent post is a particular highlight.

What is Emma Raducanu’s New Year's resolution?

Raducanu shared a photo of herself on the streets of London, having spilled a cup of coffee over herself.

Accompanying the picture was the caption: “2023 resolution 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ wish I could just make my mouth w my food and drinks”.

Raducanu may be hoping to stop spilling food and drink over herself in 2023, but she will also likely be wishing for a return to her form at the 2021 US Open.

Aged 18 at the time, Raducanu became the first ever qualifier, male or female, to win a Grand Slam title.

Why has Emma Raducanu struggled in 2022?

Raducanu has been plagued by fitness issues all year, withdrawing from a number of tournaments with injury.

Most recently, her wrist injury forced her to pull out of the Transylvania Open and Billie Jean King Cup Finals.

Raducanu is now working with physical conditioning specialist Jez Green to put an end to these woes.

The fitness guru, who is known for his work with Andy Murray, focuses on factors beyond just building up strength and fitness.

He concentrates on how an athlete moves and builds a long-term plan which enables players to get into the best position to hit the ball.

Raducanu is yet to fully recover from her wrist injury, but has been practising with her left hand, allowing her to develop her footwork and movement on court in the meantime.

She is set to play an exhibition match against Ons Jabeur in Abu Dhabi next month, before preparations begin for the Australian Open in January.
