Ghana ran out 3-2 winners after engaging in a thrilling clash with South Korea on Monday.

In what was a vital game for both teams, the African nation had just enough quality to triumph over their opponents and ensure their World Cup destiny remained within their own realm of control.

Mohammed Salisu and Mohammed Kudus - who bagged himself a brace - were the matchwinners for Ghana on the day. But it was an impressive team performance that manager Otto Addo will be most pleased with.

South Korea 2-3 Ghana: Match report

After both nations failed to secure victory on matchday one of their tournament campaigns, it was clear heading into the encounter that not losing was a necessity for either side.

Ghana raced into the lead midway through the first half, despite Korea seeming the dominant force up until that point.

It was Southampton's Salisu who grabbed the goal, latching onto the end of a delightfully whipped in free-kick with his head and finding the bottom corner.

Ghana extended their advantage just 12 minutes later. Kudus, who prior to the tournament likened himself to Neymar, scored the second and added to his World Cup tally after also scoring against Portugal in their first group game.

Coming out for the second half, Ghana led 2-0 in the match and looked likely to cruise to a comfortable victory.

But Korea came out fighting and had leveled proceedings by the 61st minute, blowing the game wide open.

Two goals from Cho Gue-Sung made him the man of the moment and provided Korea with a lifeline.

However, Kudus struck gold again not 10 minutes later and sealed the deal for Ghana, who survived a late bombardment from Heung-min Son and his teammates to claim the three points.

VIDEO: Ghana fan goes off at three South Korea supporters

It was a truly tantalising affair, one that all football fans would have hugely enjoyed.

Although despite that, there was one moment off the field of play which is going viral.

In the footage doing the rounds on Twitter, one Ghanaian fan can seen going absolutely mad in front of three South Korea supporters after his team had taken the lead.

He clearly let his emotions get the better of him there and the three ladies certainly did not look impressed with his gloating.

Nevertheless, fans have been finding the clip seriously amusing and have been sharing it in their thousands.
