During Saturday’s pay-per-view Survivor Series, Roman Reigns and The Bloodline defeated Kevin Owens, Drew McIntyre and The Brawling Brutes inside WarGames. As the fight came to a close, a combination of Sami Zayn and Jey Uso was enough to stop Owens from defeating Reigns with Uso landing the final blow.Everything seemed to go off without a hitch. However, it has since been reported that Roman Reigns was left furious by one interaction with Owens during the fight that went a little off script as the latter landed an unplanned spot.

Roman Reigns furious backstage after Survivor Series

Footage has now emerged of the potential incident. As the two exchanged shots to the head near the cage wall, Owens seemingly caught The Tribal Chief around the ear. The first of which looks particularly forceful and could be the unplanned spot in question.

According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com, an enraged Reigns let out an ‘expletive filled’ rant after the fight where he complained of potentially suffering a ruptured eardrum.

Although this was allegedly only a ‘heat of the moment’ reaction, it is clear that the current poster boy of wrestling was furious with the unscripted connection to his ear.

Despite this outburst, Reigns and Owens will have to quickly put their differences aside as they are planned to face of once more in January. The fight for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship is supposedly planned to take place in San Antonio at the Royal Rumble.

Roman Reigns' iconic WWE run

Even with this moment of controversy, Reigns continued his dominance inside the ring.

His last loss came all the way back on December 4, 2020, where he only lost via disqualification. That was during episode 1,111 of SmackDown, where Kevin Owens was actually one of his opponents on the night.

Since this defeat, Reigns has defeated everyone in his path and in January he will be looking to take out Owens once more.

It remains to be seen whether this unplanned spot affects the January fight, but it’ll certainly add that little bit more of a personal edge.

At the end of the day, though, both men are professionals and it seems the two will continue to work together as such.

That said, a hefty blow to the ear is certainly going to hurt and it probably won’t be something Reigns will forget in a hurry.
