Manchester United are one of only two “realistic options” that Tottenham Hotspur and England striker Harry Kane could move to in the Premier League, if the Spurs man were to leave north London for Erik ten Hag’s side at Old Trafford, according to journalist Dean Jones.

The Three Lions captain is currently on World Cup duty with Gareth Southgate’s England squad.

Man Utd transfer news – Harry Kane

According to The Sun, Bayern Munich are reportedly set to offer up to £90m for the services of Kane, with the 29-year-old now set to enter the final 12 months of his £200k-per-week contract (via Spotrac) at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium at the end of the season.

The England captain looked poised to make the move to Manchester City in a £150m deal (via ESPN) in the summer of 2021 before a move broke down and the striker stayed in north London.

But according to reports in Spain (via the Manchester Evening News), Manchester United are now looking at a potential deal for the Premier League’s third all-time top scorer as a possible replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo, after the club terminated the Portugal star’s contract after he took part in an explosive interview with Piers Morgan.

And Jones believes that United are one of only two clubs that could make a move for the England star now, with Newcastle United being the other.

What has Jones said about Kane and Man Utd?

Jones told GIVEMESPORT: “If he stays in England, it looks like there are only two realistic options and they're quite different.

“One would be Man United, where you're looking at Premier League history and traditions and hoping that they're about to turn a corner and reclaim past glories.”

What does the future hold for Kane?

Whilst big decisions are afoot either in January or next summer for Kane, the striker’s immediate focus will be on guiding England to a second-ever World Cup title, with the Three Lions set to face Senegal in the last 16 on Sunday having finished top of their group.

Though yet to score at the tournament, the Spurs man will have his eyes set on breaking Wayne Rooney’s Three Lions goalscoring record (53 goals) with the current England skipper just needing to notch three goals in Qatar to become his country’s leading goalscorer, according to Transfermarkt.

Having provided three assists in three games during the World Cup this year, Kane will hope to turn some of those assists into goals as he looks to become only the country's second captain to lift a major title with England come the World Cup final in December.
