Tottenham Hotspur are looking at Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar, according to Italian football expert Carlo Garganese.

The 27-year-old is thought to be attracting interest from a host of Premier League clubs right now, and it appears that Spurs are one of them.

Tottenham transfer news - Milan Skriniar

Last month, 90min reported that Tottenham, Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea all want to sign Skriniar when his contract expires next summer.

Paris Saint-Germain could also enter the race for the Slovakian centre-half after trying to buy him in the last transfer window.

According to another 90min report, PSG were keen on Skriniar, who Inter valued at €80m (around £69m) at the time.

With his contract running down, though, there is no chance that they will get that for the Slovakia international in January if they decide to sell then in order to avoid losing him on a free transfer at the end of the season.

What has Carlo Garganese said about Milan Skriniar and Tottenham?

Garganese has told GIVEMESPORT that Tottenham are one club who are currently keeping tabs on Skriniar.

Speaking to GMS, the journalist said: "They're certainly looking at him. There are lots of teams looking at him. PSG are the team that are most interested in him.

"PSG tried to sign him in the summer. They were in negotiations with Inter for a long time."

How good is Milan Skriniar?

Skriniar is a pretty solid defender and easily one of the best players in Inter's squad.

According to WhoScored, he is making 1.4 tackles per Serie A game this season, which is the third-highest average among his team-mates.

Inter's No.37 is also making 2.1 clearances a match, which is again the third-highest average in Simone Inzaghi's squad.

It is not hard to see why sports journalist Siavoush Fallahi has described Skriniar as a "warrior". On a free transfer, he could be an incredible piece of business for Tottenham.

The fact that he could be available for free, however, means Antonio Conte and former Juventus director Fabio Paratici could face a real challenge luring him to Hotspur Way.

Other clubs, likely ones from the Premier League, are not going to let Spurs have a free run at this. Having worked with him at Inter before, though, perhaps that could give Conte the advantage.

All in all, Skriniar is a top central defender. If Tottenham can get him, that will be a massive boost to their backline.
