William Regal could be brought back to WWE, at least if reports are to be believed.

The current chatter online is that William Regal, despite being contracted to AEW, could be about to return to WWE.

Regal was part of the team Triple H was building in NXT, before being shockingly released by WWE in 2021, but he could be nearing a return.

Is William Regal returning to WWE?

The current feeling online, at least amongst fans, is that William Regal, who was recently described as "money" by Jim Ross, was written off AEW TV last night, enabling him to return to WWE.

Regal sided with MJF at Full Gear on November 19, but during last night's episode of Dynamite, was attacked by the new AEW World Champion.

Fans believe that this was a way to write Regal off TV, and out of AEW, freeing him to reunite with Triple H in a new look WWE.

There is some substance to the rumours, it would seem, with Dave Meltzer claiming on Wrestling Observer Radio that there's a good chance that Regal is on his way back to WWE, via WrestleTalk.

There’s stuff that I can’t say, but… whatever the three-year contract is, there’s something up here, okay? And it is certainly a possibility that he’s going back.

As Meltzer notes, Regal signed a three-year deal with AEW last year, but from his quote, it seems like Tony Khan may be preparing to let him out of that contract, if he hasn't already.

Regal was not only a behind-the-scenes figure for WWE in the recruitment team, but also a fantastic servant as NXT General Manager.

He was widely regarded as one of the best authority figures in modern WWE history, which could be something that Triple H looks to bring to the main roster if Regal does make his way back to WWE.

Who else is Triple H bringing back to WWE?

It's worth noting that no one is reporting that Triple H is 100% bringing back William Regal to WWE, but it certainly seems like there is something going on and some substance to the rumours.

With regards to who else is coming back to WWE, rumours state that Chelsea Green, Matt Cardona and Tegan Nox could all be next in line to return to the company under Triple H's watch.
