Chelsea target Declan Rice could be a bargain for the Blues compared to Jude Bellingham, believes transfer reporter Dean Jones.

The two England midfielders have been linked to Graham Potter's side, but while West Ham could be prepared to sell the former for £70m, it is thought that Borussia Dortmund want £130m for the latter.

Chelsea transfer news - Declan Rice and Jude Bellingham

Last month, The Telegraph reported that some of the Premier League's biggest clubs, including Chelsea, are ready to make bids for Rice and Bellingham.

The same outlet states that West Ham may be prepared to sell Rice for £70m next summer. Bellingham, however, could cost almost double that.

Back in September, another article from The Telegraph suggested that Dortmund value their England star at £130m.

It will now be interesting to see if Chelsea or another one of Europe's elite clubs are willing to pay that fee.

What has Dean Jones said about Declan Rice, Jude Bellingham and Chelsea?

If Bellingham really is going to cost £130m, Jones thinks Chelsea signing Rice for £70m would be a bargain.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the journalist said: "If Rice is available at 70 million, that's about half of what Dortmund are going to be labelling Bellingham at, so it definitely would feel like a bargain."

Should Chelsea pay £70m for Declan Rice?

All things considered, it seems like more than a reasonable fee for West Ham to demand and for Chelsea to pay.

Potter may need to replace N'Golo Kante, who is out of contract at the end of the season, and Rice looks like the perfect replacement.

As per FBref, the West Ham captain has ranked in the 94th percentile for interceptions and the 94th for pass completion among midfielders over the last year, so he is someone who can win the ball back and keep hold of it.

Rice also seems to be very open to the idea of leaving the London Stadium for a new challenge.

"I see my friends here [in the England camp] who are playing Champions League and for big trophies," he was recently quoted as saying by The Guardian. "You only get one career and at the end you want to look back at what you’ve won and the biggest games you’ve played in.”

All in all, then, compared to Bellingham, Rice just looks like a much easier deal to do and is a player Chelsea should be all over in the summer transfer window.
