West Ham United will add Mauricio Pochettino and Thomas Tuchel to their shortlist of managerial candidates if current boss David Moyes is sacked by the London Stadium hierarchy, according to journalist Dean Jones.

The Hammers are just one point clear of the Premier League's relegation zone ahead of their campaign resuming with a trip to table-toppers Arsenal on Boxing Day.

West Ham manager news - Mauricio Pochettino and Thomas Tuchel

Jones has told GIVEMESPORT that Moyes' West Ham future could rest on how his side performs in the first three fixtures after the World Cup as co-owners David Sullivan and David Gold mull over whether to make a change in the dugout.

It comes after French media outlet Jeunes Footeux claimed the Hammers' hierarchy have already tested the waters over whether Pochettino would be interested in succeeding the Scotsman.

Pochettino has been out of work since being sacked by Paris Saint-Germain during the summer, but the Argentinian has admitted he misses life in the Premier League and would be open to a return after previously managing Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur.

Meanwhile, writing for the Sunday People via Caught Offside, former Premier League striker Stan Collymore has suggested that Tuchel could head to West Ham after the 49-year-old was axed by Chelsea in September.

Jones has previously told GIVEMESPORT that West Ham 'could attract almost any manager in the world' if they opt to part ways with Moyes.

What has Dean Jones said about Pochettino and Tuchel?

Jones believes West Ham co-owners Gold and Sullivan would be keen to speak to Pochettino and Tuchel if they sack Moyes.

The journalist feels the London Stadium hierarchy would be making a mistake if they did not, at the very least, hold discussions with the duo.

Jones told GIVEMESPORT: "Pochettino would probably be on their list. Tuchel would probably be on that list as well.

"They would have to be managers that you at least sound out for that position."

Would Pochettino or Tuchel be a good appointment for West Ham?

According to Transfermarkt, Pochettino is a title winner who left PSG after getting his hands on three trophies.

The 50-year-old has also been a success in the Premier League, having won 132 of 256 fixtures, which makes his arrival at West Ham an even more exciting prospect.

Pochettino's availability, along with the fact he still lives in London, could also make him a shrewd appointment.

Tuchel, equally, would be an ambitious option for the Hammers as he led Chelsea to 62 victories over the course of his 99-game reign.

The German has also won some of football's biggest prizes, including the Champions League, Club World Cup, Super Cup and the Ligue 1 title.
