West Ham United making a move to sign Manchester United right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka could be "highly probable", according to Express journalist Ryan Taylor.

The Hammers are looking to strengthen on the right of defence, with Vladimir Coufal being linked with a move to Bayer Leverkusen, as per Florian Plettenberg, and Wan-Bissaka has emerged as a potential option for David Moyes.

West Ham transfer news - Aaron Wan-Bissaka

West Ham insider ExWHUEmployee recently claimed on his West Ham Way podcast that the club hold an interest in bringing the defender to the London Stadium in the January transfer window, on what would be a loan deal, amid his lack of game time for Manchester United.

As per Transfermarkt, the Englishman has featured for just four minutes in all competitions this season, clearly not a key part of new manager Erik ten Hag's plans, opening the door for the Hammers to lodge a transfer bid.

Former club Crystal Palace have also been touted as potential suitors, deemed by 90min to be the 25-year-old's most likely destination, and so a battle for his services could be set to unfold between the two London clubs next month.

What has Taylor said about Wan-Bissaka?

Taylor points towards the Hammers' previous move for the full-back as a potential factor in potential renewed interest, while also indicating that there is substance to their interest.

When asked by GIVEMESPORT whether he would expect West Ham to look at him, the journalist said: "Yes I would, I think that's a very realistic transfer and that is highly probable [Irons making a move to sign him].

"I think with Wan-Bissaka, it's clear that he's he's appreciated by West Ham because they tried to get him on loan in August, so I think that's one that has legs to it and there could be movement."

Aaron Wan-Bissaka's stats for Manchester United

Since arriving at Old Trafford for an initial £45m in 2019, as per Sky Sports, the £90k-a-week earner, as per Spotrac, has had a mixed time at the club, specialising in his defensive work, but struggling to contribute to the side's attacking output.

Football correspondent James Robson has previously lauded the former Palace man as being 'absolutely immense', while also pondering whether there exists a better tackler in the Premier League.

It is hard to argue that there are many, given an average of 3.03 tackles per 90 over the past year, placing him in the 97th percentile when the 6 foot enforcer is compared to other players in his position, as per FBref.

That aspect of his game would make Wan-Bissaka an astute signing for Moyes, but just 1.79 shot-creating actions per 90 ranks him in the 32nd percentile, so the manager will have to take into account which part of his game he considers more important.
