West Ham United manager David Moyes is ‘looking to strengthen in all areas’ ahead of the winter window, Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth has informed GiveMeSport.

The Hammers have endured a difficult start to the season despite their success in recent years and could turn to the transfer market next month in search of a solution.

West Ham United transfer news – January

West Ham have recorded consecutive top-seven finishes in the Premier League under Moyes while also reaching the semi-finals of the Europa League last term.

The capital club’s hierarchy then backed the Scottish tactician over the summer as a result, splashing out around £160 million to bring in eight new arrivals over the summer.

However, West Ham’s form has been underwhelming domestically so far in 2022/23, and they are currently lingering down in 16th position, just two places and one point above the relegation zone.

Further acquisitions could arrive in January as the east London outfit look to put some daylight between themselves and the bottom three.

What has Sheth said about West Ham?

Sheth has told GMS that Moyes will be on the lookout for new players: “I'm sure David Moyes is looking to strengthen in all areas of the pitch.

“Having said that, there's so many new players that have come in at West Ham United I think what his priority was, was to gel these players, and was almost pleading for time from the West Ham fans who were getting a little bit frustrated with the results.

“Saying, ‘look, just calm, just trust me. We've just got a whole new squad, or it feels like a whole new squad, they need time to bed in.

“A lot of them are coming from different leagues, they're going to need time to settle in.’ So, I think that's what David Moyes and West Ham United will probably be looking at doing in the next few months.”

Who could West Ham sign?

West Ham were linked with a move for Blackburn Rovers striker Ben Brereton Diaz by The Sun back in July and could revive their interest in him once more.

Transfer insider Dean Jones has disclosed to GMS that the Irons are ‘still in a pretty good position’ to sign the 23-year-old who has bagged 10 goals and three assists in 25 appearances this season.

Meanwhile, the Manchester Evening News has stated that West Ham are eager to snap up Aaron Wan-Bissaka on loan.

The right-back has fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford under manager Erik ten Hag and initially found himself on Moyes’ wish list in the previous transfer window.
