A Liverpool midfield containing Jude Bellingham and Sofyan Amrabat would be a 'frightening prospect', says Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth.

Jurgen Klopp's side have been heavily linked with World Cup stars Bellingham and Amrabat, as the Reds target midfield reinforcements.

What's the latest news involving Jude Bellingham, Sofyan Amrabat and Liverpool?

Both Bellingham and Amrabat stole the headlines for their respective nations at the recent World Cup, with speculation already growing about the pair's future.

Premier League outfit Liverpool has been mooted as a potential destination for both Bellingham and Amrabat, who could cost €40m (£35m) according to Fabrizio Romano.

In Bellingham's case, the expectation is the England international will leave Borussia Dortmund at the end of the current campaign, with Liverpool reportedly favourites to sign him.

Klopp is believed to have been a long-time admirer of Bellingham, with the former Dortmund boss keen to build his future Liverpool midfield around the English starlet who could cost €150m (£130m), as per Bild.

As for Amrabat, Liverpool could be targeting a deal for Morocco's World Cup hero as early as next month, as per reports.

The disruptive midfielder impressed during Morocco's run to the semi-finals and the 26-year-old is already attracting interest from Europe's big names.

What has Sheth said about Bellingham, Amrabat and Liverpool?

A problem area for Liverpool in recent months, a midfield reset is necessary for the Merseyside outfit and Sky Sports reporter Sheth believes they're looking in the right areas.

"I just wonder whether Amrabat would be best going to a club where they're going to buy him outright," Sheth explained.

"We've seen the makeup of the Liverpool midfield and we've talked about it before."

"Who's to say Amrabat and Bellingham [both can't join]?"

"If Liverpool could get Amrabat in January, Bellingham in the summer, and play them next to each other next season. A frightening prospect."

Who could depart Liverpool to make way for Amrabat and Bellingham?

With the likes of Jordan Henderson and Thiago Alcantara all over the age of 30, and Fabinho struggling for form, midfield reinforcements could be necessary for Liverpool if they wish to compete over the coming months.

What's more, injury-ridden Naby Keita also looks set to leave Anfield, with transfer insider Dean Jones recently telling GMS that Liverpool are willing to let the midfielder go.

It's likely to be a period of transition in the Liverpool midfield with out-of-contract Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain also tipped to move on, according to Fabrizio Romano.

How Liverpool rebuild their midfield could be crucial to the Reds' future hopes of success, with Amrabat and Bellingham certainly two viable options moving forwards.
