Tottenham injury news - Richarlison

As per BBC Sport, Richarlison is expected to be out for weeks after picking up an injury in Brazil's quarter-final defeat to Croatia at the World Cup.

The tournament in Qatar ended in disappointment for Richarlison following his nation's elimination and the hamstring issue he sustained.

Nevertheless, on an individual level, it was a good World Cup for the Tottenham star.

While he was not able to help Brazil overcome Croatia in the end, he still managed to score three goals in four outings, as shown on Transfermarkt.

What has Dean Jones said about Richarlison and Tottenham?

With Richarlison now sidelined, Jones has told GMS that Tottenham may show more urgency in the transfer window.

Following the former Everton man's injury, Jones said: "It might accelerate that need for one more attack-minded player. That's what I'm told we really need to look out for now."

Is Richarlison's injury a blow for Tottenham?

Without a doubt, especially considering that he had just hit top form with Brazil.

Spurs spent a lot of money on Richarlison, paying Everton £60m (via BBC Sport) for his services during the summer, while Premier League football is about to return. Antonio Conte would have wanted to have him available for this part of the season.

The ex-Watford player has not made too much of an impact in the top flight this term, failing to register a single goal in 10 outings, as per Transfermarkt. However, he has been helpful in the Champions League, bagging a brace against Marseille.

With the form that he was in at the World Cup, Conte would have been hoping to see more of that next month. Unfortunately for the Italian, though, it now looks like he is going to be without Richarlison in January.

It means Spurs will be relying on Harry Kane, Son Heung-min and Dejan Kulusevski, who are hardly terrible options. But an injury to one of them, and it could be a really depressing January for supporters.

Tottenham, of course, will have the opportunity to bring a new attacker to Hotspur Way in the new year, which you definitely would not rule out now after Richarlison's hamstring injury.
