Arsenal move for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic would 'appeal' to the Serie A star, transfer expert Dean Jones believes.

The Serbian international has been on the radar of Arsenal for a while, but a move is yet to properly materialise.

What's the latest news on Milinkovic-Savic and Arsenal?

A name that often pops up during the transfer window, Milinkovic-Savic has been a reported target for a number of top European clubs over the years.

The midfielder - who according to Salary Sport pockets £75,000 per week - has been at Italian club Lazio since joining from Genk in 2015.

Now aged 27, reports have once again surfaced linking Milinkovic-Savic with a move away from Italy, this time with Premier League leaders Arsenal said to be interested.

Italian football journalist Giulio Cardone told radio station Radiosei that a deal between Arsenal and Lazio for Milinkovic-Savic looks more likely than ever, with the player having "changed his opinion" about a switch to the Emirates Stadium.

Football.London reported that Mikel Arteta was keen on bringing a central midfielder into the club last summer, but moves for Youri Tielemans and Douglas Luiz never amounted to anything.

Another name on the list of potential Arsenal midfield targets was of course Milinkovic-Savic, with claims from Italy suggesting Lazio were open to selling him for between £42 million and £50 million in the summer.

Fast forward five months and Milinkovic-Savic is once again subject to much speculation, with further reports from Italy now suggesting Juventus are in the driving seat for a player Jones recently wrote for GIVEMESPORT could now cost £100m.

Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla claims the Old Lady has "reached a pre-contract agreement" with Milinkovic-Savic, but any deal could hinge on the current crisis unfolding in the Juventus boardroom.

What has Jones said about Milinkovic-Savic and Arsenal?

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, transfer insider Jones believes Milinkovic-Savic could be at the heart of a complicated transfer saga over the next few weeks and months.

"I know that Juventus had an eye on this one too," Jones told GMS.

"Arsenal would definitely have an appeal about it to Milinkovic-Savic.

"But we have to be open-minded about how other offers from elsewhere might compare to that."

What would Milinkovic-Savic offer Arsenal?

A fancied prospect when he broke into the Lazio team, Milinkovic-Savic has notched up over 300 appearances during his seven years with the Biancocelesti.

As recently demonstrated at the World Cup with Serbia, Milinkovic-Savic offers a distinct creative threat from the heart of midfield and is a player that would certainly suit Arteta's philosophy.

Having featured in all but one of Lazio's outings this season, the former Genk midfielder has already contributed to 12 goals from 20 appearances, as per Transfermarkt.

Experience could be key for Arsenal if they're to end an 18-year wait for a Premier League title and Milinkovic-Savic appears to provide Arteta with the perfect option.
