Tyson Fury's promoter Bob Arum has dismissed Oleksandr Usyk's March deadline after his manager declared their undisputed clash must happen no later than next spring.

Fury, 34, retained his WBC heavyweight title against Derek Chisora on December 3.

It was a dominant display from the Gypsy King, who stopped his fellow Brit in the tenth round with a barrage of punches.

After the fight, Fury confirmed he next wants to take on Usyk.

The Ukrainian currently holds the WBA, WBO and IBF titles which he claimed when he did the double over Anthony Joshua in Saudi Arabia in August.

But Alex Krassyuk, who represents Usyk, recently claimed the fight for the undisputed championship must take place by March 4.

What has Alex Krassyuk said about Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk?

“Two main things: A fight like that is the biggest fight in boxing," Krassyuk told Seconds Out when asked why there hasn't yet been an announcement.

“So we can announce it, let’s say today or tomorrow, we have a basic option to make it happen in Wembley or Cardiff or any other place in the UK, but as long as we are working for our men – who are the best heavyweights in the world – we have to bring them the biggest, the most benefit.

“So we are now working on that, we are now working on a site. We are in negotiations with three countries in the Middle East and we still have the basic option of Great Britain. So the worst scenario is it goes to Wembley or any other big stadium.

“The best scenario is it takes place in the Middle East. The deadline that we agreed together is the 4th of March. It seems like because I tell you why: in case it doesn’t happen until the 4th of March it’s not likely to happen ever.”

How did Bob Arum respond to his comments?

However, Arum has insisted that there is no such deadline for the pair to crown the first undisputed champion since Lennox Lewis, despite his opposite counterpart suggesting otherwise.

"Well, I don't know where he's pulling that date from of March 4," he exclusively told GIVEMESPORT.com.

"But one thing I must say is that both fighters have agreed to fight each other next without interim fights so that's good.

"What the date will be, that's to be determined, what the site will be, that's what we're working on, and we'll see in the days ahead.

"I mean I've got great partners in the UK with Queensberry and you know, with Frank and George, and we're in contact everyday.

"I've been talking with Egis Klimas, the manager of Usyk, and I consider Usyk a good friend of mine as well. So I'm confident that fight is going to go on in the very near future. What that means as far as a date is concerned, that's to be determined."
